RAFTING

Rafting is organized every day (from the middle of May to the middle of September) in two terms: 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. It starts with gathering in front of our agency, where from we go to the starting place. There you meet your guide (skipper) and get your equipment and then you listen to your guide lecture which lasts for 15 minutes.Your adventure may start. Rafting track is 9 km long, it can be passed in 3 to 4 hours and consists of three parts, second part is the most attractive one. The destination of the trip is in "Radmanove mlinice", where from you return to the starting place by your own means of transportation or by transportation, organized by us.

1. What is rafting?

Rafting is a wet recreation for each sporty and non-sporty person, even if not in a good shape. In this case it is organized on a perfectly calm part of the Cetina river.
2. Is it dangerous?

Each extreme sport can be dangerous, it is the case with rafting, too. Rafting on the Cetina river has a smaller degree of danger, because you avoid dangerous parts. Another important thing is that you are guided by people, who have passed that track a lot of times. It is very important to listen to your skippers.
3. I can not swim. May I go rafting?

Of course! As necessary equipment you will get a safety belt and a helmet. We have taken a lot of non-swimers to rafting and they have had a great fun. It is imprtant to be sincere and to confess your swimming disability to your skipper.
4. What to wear?

The most important thing is to wear something, you are not afraid to make wet. You should wear trainers or sandals, because they fit well. It is advisable to take your dry clothes and shoes with you to wear after the rafting is over (at our destination place).
5. Can I do rafting?

All persons from eight to older vital years can do rafting, but those from 8 to 14 must be accompanied by an elder person.
6. What happens on a typical trip?

First you get introduced to your skipper. He will warn you about all the situations and explain to you what your rule in the boat (raft) is, he will teach you about basic rowing techniques and ask you:"Can you swim?" Then comes the adventure.
7. What if I fall out of the raft?

Believe it or not, a lot of people like falling out. It is important to listen to your skipper advice concerning danger at that part of the river. Do not worry, your life is not in danger if you do not ask for it.
8. When is the trip canceled?

Trips are canceled only under extreme circumstances. It could be even more attractive in the rain.
9. Can I take my camera with me?

Yes, you can, but not at our responsibility. To protect it, we will put it in water-resistant bags on dangerous parts of the river.
10. What is a raft?

It is a rubber boat, specially designed and adapted for rafting.
11. At the end Skippers!

Skippers or guides are experienced rafters, who first of all like their job and enjoy it. What is the most important of all, they have flown and passed through the river a lot of times and they know how to react in each situation. Their duty is to complete the trip safely.

TRANSPORTATION

We can offer you transportation in our new bus Mercedes 416 CDI: 19+1 seats or 16+1 seats, ABS + ASR, high panorama- windows , air-conditioning, central heating, music line with CD, soundtrack in the whole bus, microphone for the guide and seats to be pulled out (sidewise).
The bus is licensed for doing international transportation in the civil traffic.
The auto-day of the vehicle is specially arranged, there is a possibility of ordering you just a half of a car-day.

OMIŠ

Omiš is the town of rich history, placed in the middle of Dalmatia, at the mouth of the Cetina river between Split and Makarska."Oneum"- as it called then, was built in the seventh century during the great migration of people. Its suitable position at the mouth of the Cetina river, sea, connection with the background and the natural way from innlands to the sea, helped it to survive. Once it was a sort of shelter for pirats who found here an excellent starting place for their robbery raids to Byzantine and Venetian ships on the Adriatic sea. The pirats from Omiš became such a threat that real crusades against them were organized, but never happened. From 1444. to 1797 Omiš was under rule of Venice and after its fall under rule of Austria. In the period from 1805 and 1813 Omiš is under rule of Napoleon. The two fortifications above the town witness about the stormy history of this town. Regarding tourist possibilities, we can say that this region is "the paradise of private accomodation". It is hard to count how many houses and rooms are rent during the summer. Once famous for its navy tradition and natural beauty and today for its picturesque beaches, 35 km long riviera and authentic fishermen villages, Omiš is getting more and more attractive tourist destination of the middle Dalmatia.

HOW TO REACH US

Omiš is placed on the Adriatic Highway, 25 km souther from Split. It is available by car, bus, plane, train and ship.
Travelling by car

If you are coming from direction Zagreb, take the highway Zagreb-Split, after coming to Split continue driving on the Adriatic Highway towards south for another 25 km. If you are coming from direction Rijeka, follow the Adriatic Highway to Split and then keep on travelling for another 25 km towards the south of Croatia, to Omiš. If you are coming from Dubrovnik, drive on the Adriatic Highway towards north, pass Makarska, continue driving in direction Split.
Travelling by bus

Omiš is connected with big Croatian cities through direct bus lines, and if you are coming from smaller places, get on a bus to Split or Makarska and then you will reach Omiš easily by taking local bus lines.
Travelling by train

The same as when travelling by bus, the most important thing is to reach Split and then you will take a local bus to Omiš.
Travelling by boat

To Passengers who decide to travel by boat, it is useful to say that the nearest port is Split, which is connected with other important ports on the Adriatic coast through regular and iregular lines. From the ferry port in Split you will reach Omiš by bus.
Travelling by plane

Tourists who decide to travel by plane should have a flight to Split, and from there they can reach 25 km distant Omiš by local bus lines.
WHERE TO GO SIGHTSEEING

Parish church of St. Mihovil is an early-baroque building from the 17th century, in the treasury of which icons of saints and a document box are kept safe. A happy mans house - called this way due to the script on its front: "Thank you God for my living in this world". St. Rokos church and St. Spirits church are the most picturesque examples of the architectural heritage of Omiš. Centre - a very attractive old part of the town, where from a way upwards leads to the renaissance fortification Peovica (Mirabela). The Poljica square - on the square by the Cetina river there is a pillory, dating from the 17th century and a baroque palace. Starigrad (Fortica) - a fortification above the village of Borak, raised in the 16th century and from which you can enjoy a nice sight to the islands of middle Dalmatia. The town museum - a collection of objects from the history of Omiš, archeological collection and the famous Statute of Poljica.
SURROUNDINGS

Having been placed in the canon of the Cetina river, Omiš is rich with excursion resorts and places with astonishing beautiful landscape. The Cetina river - the mouth of the Cetina river (very rich with water) that is 100 km long, is in Omiš. Radmanove mlinice (The Radmans mills) - excursion resort 6 km far from Omiš, where you can visit authentical mills which used the water force to grind corn. In the restaurant you can taste local food. Gubavica waterfalls - 20 km far from Omiš in the village of Zadvarje there are waterfalls, which are 49 m high. The Mosor mountain - 6 km far from Omiš, through the village of Gata towards Blato n/C there is a way leading to Mosor, a rocky mountain 25km long. Poljica - an area of some 20 villages along the slopes of the Mosor mountain, that once belonged to the famous Republic of Poljica and , which was destroyed by France in the 19th century.
SPORTS AND RECREATION

Rafting - have fun and meet an untouched nature by the Cetina river (see Options). Free climbing - 500 m far from the centre of the town towards the excursion resort "Radmanove mlinice" you can do a climb according to already settled routes; please contact local club for additional information. Paragliding -recently a club has been founded, where you can rent equipment or attend courses. Diving - In Omiš there are a couple of clubs, offering courses and trips.
